I think it come down to this. While there should be standards to set gold or platinum level bars for optimized performance and versatility…like the comment earlier from Robert, “…but in the end the point remains the same – like any other technology or capability there ends up being lots of good work being done that unfortunately takes a long time and often gets lost in the shuffle.”
Tough part is, the pace of cloud based services is moving so fast that by the time a standard is set, a new capability will be available and a new standard will need to be sought after. It’s a vicious circle, but “policing” technology with standards, always helps drive better ways of doing things right for the future.
